Hello Starz, Kathy Griffin here to bring you this season’s twist. Now I know that you all think that you’re the hottest celebrities out there, but I have some news for you. You’re not. That would be me.
But anyways, let’s get on with how this will work.
In this game, it’s all about where you fall on THE LIST. The list is divided into two parts: The coveted A-List for all you bright and shining starz, and then the D-List, which, is where I spend my life, but in this game you don’t want to be there. Don’t ask me why. Penn and Blake have it all wrong, but that’s just how it goes. The beauty about the D-list is that people who are on it probably don't know they are.
Basically, at any point in the game, the list is an order of all players ranking from best to worst. If you fall on the top half of that list (if there is an odd number, we will put the very middle person in the top portion) then you get benefits. If you are in the bottom, you get the punishments or just a lack of benefit.
1. If you win HoH, you are automatically moved to the top of the list.
2. The winner of HoH must then swap any two players on the list.
3. Other challenges/twists, rewards might affect the list or give a player the ability to affect the list.
The list will only change once per round (after the HoH competition, but before the Nomination ceremony) unless a twist or some other ruling states otherwise.
Those falling on the top half of the list (the A-Listers) will have an advantage in the PoV challenge for that round. Also, they will have access to the A-Listers' lounge, which might include special perks such as clues or hints which might be beneficial to their gameplay.
If you manage to be an A-Lister for 4 rounds in a row, you will earn one extra vote that can be used up until the final 5. This is a one time reward that you can earn, meaning once you've earned it, you cannot earn a 2nd extra vote, no matter how many consecutive rounds you stay an A-Lister.
Those falling on the bottom half of the list (the D-Listers) will NOT have the PoV advantage, and they will NOT have access to the A-Lister lounge for that round.
If you manage to be a D-Lister for 4 rounds in a row, you will lose the ability to vote in the next eviction that you're eligible to vote in. This is also a one time punishment, so once you've reached 4 consecutive rounds of being a D-Lister, this punishment will be applied, and then you're no longer vulnerable to losing the ability to vote no matter how many more rounds you might stay a D-Lister.
Note: The contents of the A-Listers lounge will change weekly. So, if you miss out on a week, by being on the D-List, there is no guarantee that you'll ever discover what was posted in the A-Listers' lounge on the week(s) you weren't there. Also, it could be very beneficial to have frequent access to the A-Listers' lounge since there might be clues/hints that branch from previous contents of the A-Listers' lounge.
Main point: You want to be on the upper half of the list. Being an A-Lister has the potential to help your game tremendously, and being a D-Lister could be your imminent downfall. HoH is the only way to guarantee your spot on the list, so fight hard, and make friends. It's a brutal celebrity world out there!
Just remember....that's life...when you're on the D-List!

The list carries from week to week, so they would get bumped to 2nd when the new HoH is moved to the top. Then, the only way they would get moved down farther is if the current HoH decides to swap them with someone else. So, to answer your question, no, the outgoing HoH can't really secure their spot on the A-List. That's the beauty of the List. You can go from top to bottom or bottom to top in just one round. Staying on top isn't meant to be easy. |
